Texas One Stop on UT Campus: A Tribute to Two Longhorn Traditions
The “Drag,” that bustling stretch of Guadalupe Street that borders The University of Texas at Austin’s™ western rim, has been a part of Longhorn lore for generations of students and Texas Exes. So too has UFCU, the iconic financial institution that students and faculty founded in 1936.
So, it was only fitting that UFCU chose to showcase the infamous “Drag” and UT’s campus lifestyle in the Texas One Stop Home of UFCU Lounge.
UFCU partnered with Texas Ex and renowned New York artist Isabella Hollis to commission the striking mural that greets Texas One Stop visitors. A San Antonio native, Hollis’ work has been featured in numerous galleries, expositions and private collections.
“Isabella expertly captured UFCU’s integral place as one of the historic icons that comprise the UT community, alongside the UT Tower and the Drag,” said UFCU President and CEO Michael Crowl. “UT students have been frequenting the Drag for as long as they have been relying on UFCU to help them thrive financially on campus and beyond. Her vibrant depiction, filled with color and movement, symbolizes UFCU’s mission of moving the community forward.”
The Texas One Stop and UFCU Lounge is a destination that sets up students’ success from their first day on campus through graduation and beyond. Through a $1 million partnership investment with UT-Austin, UFCU contributed to developing this unique space, which provides a centralized location for critical services previously dispersed across campus. Plus, UT students looking to grab a cup of gourmet coffee in a relaxed and comfortable on-campus hangout space need look no further than the upgraded Texas One Stop and UFCU Lounge within the UT Tower.
University of Texas students can take care of several vital needs, including financial aid and counseling, class registration, tuition payments, and more. By centralizing critical services that once were located all over campus, Texas One Stop is removing barriers so students can succeed in school and their future careers.
