Ben S has been playing music professionally for more than 30 years, and now he’s helping to preserve Austin’s authentic music scene.

"I found UFCU within a week of moving to Austin more than 10 years ago. I’ve been self-employed my whole life and had a lot of different jobs in the food business, but after moving to Austin, I realized I needed something that was just mine.

I’ve been playing blues music professionally for over 30 years, so I decided to apprentice at a local amplifier repair shop. When the previous owner decided to sell the business, I bought it.
