UFCU Names Mike Clifford VP of IT and CIO
Austin, September 14, 2018 —
University Federal Credit Union (UFCU), Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, has named Mike Clifford vice president of information technology and CIO.
In his new position, Clifford will lead his team to the successful planning, development, and execution of information technology strategies and tactics to support the credit union’s programs and objectives.
Clifford is a seasoned information technology executive with experience at global brands including Dell, PepsiCo, and Taco Bell. Most recently, he spent 12 years as global vice president/chief information officer with Whole Foods Market, where he was the most senior technology executive for the world’s largest organic and natural foods retailer. Previously, as vice president/chief information officer for Dell, Clifford was the senior executive responsible for all information technology systems supporting Dell’s America’s and Public International functions.
He served two stints with PepsiCo spanning a total of 10 years, where his work included directing all trade electronic commerce and applications systems development activities for the national sales and marketing functions. Since leaving Whole Foods in 2012, Clifford has been working as an investor, advisor, consultant, and board member to nonprofits and small businesses in the Austin area. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in New York.
