UFCU Names Senior Corporate Counsel
Austin, TEXAS, November 15, 2016 – University Federal Credit Union (UFCU), Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, announced today that David Courreges joined the organization as its new Senior Corporate Counsel.
Courreges has more than a decade of experience in the legal industry and nearly two decades in government. He founded the Austin-based law firm Courreges PC in 2013, where his practice included governmental affairs, as well as corporate, association and administrative law. His ten years of legal experience includes work with a wide variety of clients including large corporations, neighborhood businesses, and associations.
Courreges received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and his master’s degree and juris doctorate from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where he has served as an adjunct professor in political science since 2008.
A sixth generation Austin resident, Courreges serves on the board of directors of both the Austin Bar Association as well as the Austin Young Chamber, and is past president of the Austin Young Lawyers Association. In addition, he is an active member of several city and county boards and commissions, and a proud supporter of the Settlement Home for Children.
