UFCU Opens New Ben White Branch
Austin, TEXAS — October 6, 2008 — Located at the northeast corner of S Congress Ave and E Ben White Blvd, UFCU’s first “green” branch is now open.
Built with environmentally conscious building principles, the new location features rain water cisterns for landscape irrigation and flushing toilets, energy efficient glass, a dehumidification system, building materials containing recycled content and more. The branch offers both walk-up and drive-thru ATMs, seven drive-thru teller lanes, video teller stations, a self-serve coin counting machine, financial planning and investment services, as well as advanced-function ATMs which accept and dispense multiple currency denominations.
While our new building has yet to be rated by the Austin Energy Green Building Program, this branch is only a preview of what is to come. UFCU is committed to using green building principles in construction of all future branches. We thank UFCU’s Board of Directors, Robert Jackson & Michael McElhaney Architects, Mark Morris, President of Marcon Construction, and the Austin Energy Green Building Program for their vision and support in making this facility a reality.
Please note effective October 11, 2008, UFCU’s drive-thru lanes at Capitol Credit Union’s Ben White facility will permanently close at 1 PM. We look forward to serving you at our new Ben White location.
