University Federal Credit Union Ranked #1 Austin Mortgage Producer
Austin, TEXAS, October 30, 2017 – For the second year in a row, University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has earned the distinction of being Austin’s top mortgage lender according to the Austin Business Journal.
UFCU, Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, led the Journal’s annual list of Top Mortgage Companies with a total of 2,544 Austin-area mortgages closed in 2016. Total Austin mortgage loan volume exceeded $702 million.
The 2017 list ranks mortgage companies by the number of 2016 residential mortgages closed for Austin-area properties by the lender’s local team. Combined with loans made outside Austin, UFCU closed nearly 3,000 mortgage loans last year for total residential mortgage volume of over $829 million.
Driving the industry-leading performance is a team of seasoned mortgage loan officers, 14 of whom were listed by the study as top mortgage loan producers in the region. “The UFCU Mortgage Services team is second to none, which is reflected by the achievement of this distinction for two years in a row,” said Tony Budet, UFCU president/CEO. “Our focus is on providing for the well-being of our Members, including delivery of exceptional service, guidance, and education to navigate the mortgage process. We appreciate the trust of the Austin community in allowing us to help with what is likely the biggest, often most complex, purchase any of us make.”
